FIRE CHIEF
The Fire Chief leads the Brooktrails Fire Department in the performance of its duties and reviews the work of its staff for effectiveness in conformance to established standards and policies. They plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate the activities of the Fire Department to provide fire prevention and suppression services, rescue services, emergency medical services, and other services relating to the protection of lives and property; serves as safety officer for the District.

Minimum requirements include possession of a high school diploma with AA in fire science preferred, EMT(D) certification and Firefighter Endorsement CADL. Within two months of hiring, the Fire Chief must live within 10 miles of District. Salary begins at $66,500; benefits include CalPERS, health insurance, a staywell plan, paid time off, holidays, and district-paid employee share of CalPERS (meaning approximately 8% of the salary will retained by employee). Firefighter - Captain or Engineer (as qualified)
Position performs varied assignments related to operation and maintenance of firefighting equipment and vehicles. Minimum requirements include possession of a high school diploma and a valid CA drivers license. Upon hire, employee will train and work toward obtaining their EMT certification and Firefighter Endorsement CADL within the first year of employment. If hired, must live within 10 miles of District. Salary begins at $39,699; benefits include CalPERS, health insurance, vacation, holidays, etc. Drug screen and physical exam upon hire. Water/Sewer Utility Operator II
Position performs varied assignments in installation, maintenance and repair of water distribution systems and wastewater collection system. Minimum of 2 years experience required, including pipelines, valves, hydrants, pump stations, regulating stations, storage facilities, meter reading and repairs and customer service orders. Heavy equipment experience required. Applicants must obtain T2 and D2 certificates from State Water Resources Control Board Drinking Water Division within 6 months of employment and hold a valid CA drivers license. If hired, must live within 10 miles of District. Salary schedule begins at $48,067; benefits include CalPERS, health insurance, vacation, holidays, etc. Drug screen and physical exam upon hire.
